Sega has revealed the release date for the Xbox 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5: October 30 in North America. This version of the game will include online and vibration support, balance adjustments and an improved Quest mode.

Joining the march of PS3-exclusives gone rogue is Sega’s Virtua Fighter 5, which will be making its way to Xbox 360 as well. A PlayStation-exclusive franchise in the past generation, Virtua Fighter 5 has gone multiplatform, though it’s still a (short) timed-exclusive for the PS3: it will be released for the Sony console on February 20, whereas the Xbox 360 version will launch in March 2007.
“Bringing Virtua Fighter 5 to the Xbox 360 offers us a platform with power to handle the astonishing visuals, the complex and varied fighting styles of all the customizable characters and will undoubtedly put Virtua Fighter™ 5 into the hands of a gaming audience craving for a highly polished and credible fighting game,” said Mat Woodley, Creative Director at Sega Europe.
Virtua Fighter 5 is the latest game to betray the PS3, followed by Koei’s BladeStorm and Fatal Inertia. There have also been rumors that Metal Gear Solid 4, one of the major PS3-exclusives, will be making its way to the Xbox 360, though it was denied by Konami.

Eidos has announced that Battlestations Midway, its WWII naval combat game, will be released in North America on January 30. It will be available on PC and Xbox 360. The release date for Sega’s Virtua Fighter 5 was also revealed: the PS3 game will hit stores on February 20 in North America; it will be part of the European PS3 launch in March 2007.

Sega has officially announced Virtua Fighter 5 as exclusive to the PS3. The latest in the venerable fighting series, VF5 will feature 17 fighters, including characters from the previous iterations along with two new characters named El Blaze and Eileen. The first is a Mexican fighting champion who takes down enemies using the Lucha Libre fighting style, while Eileen, originally from China, uses the Monkey Kung-fu fighting style.
The game will allow players to customize their characters with four unique costumes as well as a wide range of attachable items that can be placed onto each fighter’s various body parts. Players will be able to compete for prizes and earn in-game money through matches to buy items at the in-game shop. The fifth entry in the series will also introduce “Offensive Move”, a new maneuver that will allow players to easily approach opponents from the side.
As mentioned earlier, Virtua Fighter 5 is being developed exclusively for the PS3 and is due for release next Spring.
