Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground Soundtrack Listing

The full, official soundtrack listing for Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground, the upcoming entry in the popular skateboarding franchise, has been released by Activision. Featuring over 50 tracks from artists such as Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Jurassic 5, The Roling Stones and Bloc Party, the soundtrack will be there besides players as part of their skateboarding legacy in the game. Additionally, MCA of the Beastie Boys appears as an unlockable character within the game.

Here’s the deal:

Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground will be available this October on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2 and DS. In related news, the Xbox 360 version of the game will feature an exclusive demo of Guitar Hero 3.

Following the revelation of the Sixaxis PS3 controller at E3 2006, Neversoft is one of the first developers to announce support for the motion-sensing gamepad with Tony Hawk’s Project 8. The game will let players be able to balance and steer skaters through every move, as well as control slow motion to the nail the trick moves.

Tony Hawk’s Project 8 will be available for the PS3, alongside other platforms, when the console launches on November 17. It will retail for $60.

A huge rock/metal soundtrack has been part of the Tony Hawk series for a long time and Project 8 is no exception. Boasting an all-star lineup of more than 50 songs, including stuff from Bad Religion, Nine Inch Nails, Slayer (!) and Kasabian. Here’s the full in-game soundtrack:

Tony Hawk’s Project 8 is scheduled for release next month for the PS2, PS3, PSP, Xbox and Xbox 360.

Activision’s Launch Titles for PS3 and Wii

Activision CEO Robert Kotick revealed the launch titles for both the PS3 and Wii. This coming November will see both next-gen consoles launch with three games from the publisher, with both consoles receiving Call of Duty 3 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. The last title will be Tony Hawk’s Project 8 on PS3 and Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam for Wii.

In related news, he noted that most PS3 titles will be priced at $60, keeping in line with pricing of Xbox 360 games.

Activision also released these demonstration shots, along with appropriate descriptions, to show off the game:

Boosting in Machu Picchu: Players initiate boost by giving the Wii controller a quick move forward.

Hangtime in San Francisco: Players can tilt the Wii controller to change the direction coming off of sticker slap.

Downhill grind in San Francisco: By tilting the Wii controller the player balance their grind.

Launching in San Francisco: To clear large obstacles, players can move the Wii controller forward to boost off of jumps.

Maneuvering in San Francisco: The Wii controller allows precision turning for avoiding obstacles.
Just look at those models! If the game is anywhere near as fun as they make it to be, I’m gonna be the first in line for Wii!
