In even more release date news, Team Ninja disclosed that Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword (DS) will come out in March 2008. The first portable entry in the series has players control the legendary ninja through the handheld’s touch screen. A downloadable demo of the game is currently available through the DS Download Stations scattered throughout retailers.

At its pre-Tokyo Game Show briefing, Microsoft officially announced Ninja Gaiden 2, the full sequel to the bloody action game. Team Ninja designer Tomonobu Itagaki took the stage to show off the game and announced that it is exclusive for release on the Xbox 360 sometime next year.
The game, among other new things, will feature an entirely new engine and have “finishing blows” system for fatality-like moves. It will feature an automatic health regeneration system with “semi-permanent damage restored at save points,” over 30 hours of gameplay and both land and water-based fighting.

You can thank Gamers-Creed for letting the world know that there IS a GameSpot Korea, which they cite as a source for the following juicy phrase: Ninja Gaiden 2 at TGS.
Apparently, the game was confirmed by an insider in the Japanese games industry, who claims that the game will be shown on the Xbox 360 at the show though there might be a PS3 version in development. According to their source, this is being done because of the good relationship with Microsoft and the franchise’s developers. He also notes that this move is necessary to Microsoft to increase sales of their console which is ailing far behind the PS3 and Wii in the region.

I don’t know about you, but it seems to me Team Ninja is overdoing the whole erotic thing with the DOA girls. They should focus on doing an actual game.

I really don’t know how to approach this story, but if you want bouncy body parts… IGN has the scoop for you. Well, Team Ninja leader Tomonobu Itagaki has revealed that he and his team is working on a sequel to Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball which he showed off recently at a Microsoft meeting.
According to the report, many bathing suits have bee made for the title, though it is not known whether it will exceed the original’s 300 or not. The title will feature a cameraman mode, letting players show off their photographic skills, as well as “check out” the girls in detail on-screen.
As expected, DOAX2 will feature Xbox Live support, including a competitive Online play mode, although it is unclear whether it will be for the “volleyball” portion of the game or not. Apparently, the game will have a “wide range” of options - no details are available as of yet.
More information is expected at E3 when Team Ninja will officially reveal the title as well as unveil the non-volleyball sides of the title.
