Seeing as how the arcade business is almost dead in North America, it comes as no surprise that Capcom does not plan on releasing Street Fighter IV on arcades stateside.
"At this point, it does not look like Street Fighter IV arcade machines will officially hit the U.S. arcade market," stated Chris Kramer, Capcom’s senior director of communications and community.
He also shot down the idea that the game could revitalize the arcade scene, noting that no game by itself can rejuvenate an industry which has been dead for “seven or eight years.”
Street Fighter IV is due out February 2009 on PS3 and Xbox 360, with a PC version set for release later.

From the “finally!!!” department comes word that Capcom has announced the release date for the console version of Street Fighter IV, its highly anticipated brawler: February 17, 2009.
The Europeans get shafted once again, as they will receive the game three days later. It will be released simultaneously on PS3 and Xbox 360, with a PC version expected sometime later.
Street Fighter IV is already available in Japanese arcades since summer 2008, but was never officially released in other countries. The game features a significant graphics upgrade, new characters and more.

A new trailer for the upcoming brawler has emerged, showing off the addition of Gouken, an old April Fools joke, as a playable character. He is shown kicking the asses of Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li, the three major characters of the series.
The game is due out early next year on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
