According to this page on Sony’s PlayStation 3 site, future owners of the console will be able to transfer their PS1 and PS2 saved games to the PS3 by means of a “memory card adapter”. This will allow users to copy data from old memory cards to flash cards which can then be read by the PS3.
Memory card readers will be included in the high-end 60GB PS3 model; people who buy the cheaper version will have to buy a separate memory card reader for the console.
