Codemasters Online sends word that their popular subscription-free MMORPG ArchLord has opened a new hardcore PvP server to cope with increasing demand for the game.
The server will exclusively focus on PvP combat for both new and existing players alike. To celebrate the launch of “Cyripus”, the company is running a number of in-game events to challenge players. This includes various in-game leveling contests to being the actual ArchLord. Prizes will be given away, too.
Ed Relf, Director, Marketing, Codemasters Online commented, “This is a hugely significant development for ArchLord. The new server has been brought online to cope with the massively increasing demand for the game. We are still attracting tens of thousands of new players each week and with almost ¾ million players now registered, there’s never been a better time to play this great free-to-play MMO.”

A worldwide preview event for Fury, Auran’s upcoming PvP MMO, is coming up on July 27 and will run up to July 29. The servers will be open for 60 hours from midday Friday July 27 and up to 200,000 login accounts will be issued on a first-come-first-serve basis. You have to visit this link to get your very own beta key for the period.
“After the fantastic press demos last week in LA, and the great feedback we’ve seen from the closed beta testers, we believe it is now time to unleash Fury upon the broader public,” said Harry Miller, Head of Development at Gamecock, the publisher of Fury in North America. “We love indie developers because they innovate, and sometimes the best way for people to discover more about exciting new games is simply to let them experience it first-hand.”
“This Beta Preview Event will allow new players to experience Fury’s unique combat and multiple game types as well as the challenge of mixing and matching more than 400 abilities to create their ‘perfect’ incarnation,” said Adam Carpenter, Fury’s Lead Designer. “In addition, our existing beta players can see the progress we’ve made in the past weeks with improvements to matchmaking, player training and starter ability selections. And of course with all the extra players, there will be shorter wait times and evenly matched battles for everyone.”

The next chapter in Guild Wars, a subscription-free MMORPG, has been announced - Nightfall. It has already entered the beta testing stage and all players are invited to paticiapte in an exclusive, first-look PvP event running from July 28-31.
Players who participate in the preview event will be able to try out the two new professions being introduced: the Dervish, a scythe-wielding holy warrior; and the Paragon, guardian angel of the Elonian people. In addition to playing the upcoming expansion, players will be able to compete for items that will be exchangeable for a variety of rewards throughout the weekend event.
The Guild Wars Nightfall PvP Preview event will kick off on Friday, July 28 at 08:00 BST / 09:00 CET and will continue through Monday, July 31 to 07:59 BST / 08:59 CET.
