
Bringing puzzle-platforming to the PSP is European developer Ivolgamus, who is currently developing Fading Shadows for the aforementioned handheld device. Exclusive to the PSP, the game will feature action-based puzzle gameplay, with a “riveting and immersive” storyline, wireless multiplayer modes and more.
Fading Shadows sees the player faced with the challenge of saving Erwyn, whose death, according to the millennia-old prophecy, will allow evil master Gardal to breach the gates of the Castle of Heaven, the supreme fortress built to protect the world from the forces of darkness. Erywn’s soul has been enclosed in a protective orb by his clairvoyant sister, Aira, and the orb must now be transported to the Castle of Heaven, using a magical beam of light.
The player is charged with using the beam of light and exploit its state-changing abilities to complete the challenges set out in the 40 single-player levels or 10 multiplayer levels. Environments include swamps, mountains, castles and deserted cities. The game is due out in February 2008.

Nintendo DS owners will get an adventure game next year, courtesy of Focus Home Interactive and Pendulo Studios who are bringing Runaway: The Dream of the Turtle to the dual-screened handheld. The portable version of the game will take full advantage of the platform’s touch-screen controls, and will feature a new graphical codec that offers over hour of animated sequences to further the plot.
The game will comprise of 6 chapters, 30 characters, up to 100 locations, an intuitive zoom system, a new navigation system and an integrated help system to solve the most difficult puzzles.
Runaway will be released in North America during Q2 2008.

This Wednesday marks the release of two new Xbox Live Arcade games on the service - Battlestar Galactica and Exit. Here’s the deal:

To bring out more ambidextrous gamers, Majesco has announced Left Brain Right Brain for the DS. This game features puzzles and mini-games that will have players honing their mental skills while improving the dexterity of both hands. It will feature multiplayer support, four single-player modes, 15 different mini-games and more. Look forward to it this Holiday season.

One of the world’s oldest and popular puzzles games of all time - Tetris - will be hitting Xbox Live Arcade today in the form of Tetris Splash. The game has undergone an aquatic treatment and will feature online multiplayer for up to six players, as well as act as a virtual fish tank, among other things.

EA and 10tacle have announced that they have signed a distribution agreement to release Boulder Dash Rocks! Across Europe this Holiday season. This remake of the cult classic is being developed for the PSP and DS.

This puzzle game made its original debut in the early 80s, having players collect diamonds while avoiding traps and beating opponents to reach them. The remake features a new multiplayer mode and three additional play modes, as well as two new game modes designed for the two different platforms.

Capcom has announced Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, originally set for PS2 and PSP release, is now also coming to the Wii. However, it will carry a $10 premium over its PlayStation counterparts, retailing for $39.99. All three versions will be available on November 13.
Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law is a fully animated interactive adventure game that merges the fun and mayhem of the popular Adult Swim TV show with Capcom’s unique style of gameplay. Players will step into the shiny wingtips of Harvey Birdman, a third-rate superhero turned third-rate defense attorney charged with exonerating parodied classic cartoon characters.Over the course of the game, players must guide Harvey through a series of odd and comical cases. Lich King Studios sends word that it has began development of Destiny’s Dilemma - a combination of board games, card games and mini-games - this month. The gameplay is likened to a combination of Pokemon and Mario Party or Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales and Puzzle Quest.
Players traverse game boards and battle each other using timed, touch screen abilities represented as cards. To successfully use an ability card, a player selects it and completes the corresponding minigame that is presented. When one player eliminates their opponent’s hit points, they win the battle and receive rewards such as new cards. The flow and gameplay is immediately addicting and accessible as players race against the clock to acquire better cards for battle.This title places an emphasis on light deck building and multiplayer action. Aside from the single player story mode (featuring cut-scenes and dialogue), a flexible suite of multiplayer games is available for both local and internet wi-fi. Graphically, Destiny’s Dilemma is sure to please with its blend of 2D and 3D components. Characters are large; originally-styled sprites while backgrounds are a mix of real time polygonal objects and sprite overlays. This title appeals to casual players due to its character-driven nature, touch screen controls, board game setting, and prominent minigames. Meanwhile, the deck building, item system, and streamlined battle rules provide the strategy and depth that will satisfy hardcore players and add replay value.
The game is being developed for the DS; no release date was mentioned.

Capcom sends word that Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is now available on Xbox Live Arcade for 800 Microsoft points. An incredibly popular puzzle game, the title has been updated with 1080p graphics, several new game modes, improved game balance, new stage background courtesy of Udon Entertainment, online play and more.

Yuke’s America has announced NEVES for the DS, an unique puzzle game that challenges players to think critically as they align pieces and build figures that correspond to a silhouette. Each puzzle will feature seven wooden blocks, requiring the player to combine them to form specific figures ranging from simple items like a sword or key to more complicated ones such as birds and airplanes.

IGN carries word that the PS3 sequel to Loco Roco was shown at the PlayStation Premier event and that it is coming soon to the PlayStation Network.
Dubbed Buu Buu Cocoreccho! By LocoRoco, the game is said to be more than a “peculiar extra chapter,” according to Sony. “Even if you don’t play it [as in control the game], the world and the LocoRoco will play [as in both playing amongst themselves and as in playing back like a video] on their own.”
According to the report, the PS3 version of the game will feature 200 LocoRoco characters and gamers will be able to use the SixAxis for motion-based controls. The game is also to be expected soon, as it is being listed by Sony as being 95% complete.

D3Publisher has announced that it will release Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords for Wii, PS2 and PC this Fall along with a mobile version in early 2008. The best-selling puzzle game for DS will also be available in the coming months on Xbox Live Arcade as previously announced.
“The lightning quick acceptance and praise we received from fans and press for the fun, deeply immersive gaming experience we created by mixing RPG elements with puzzle gameplay were a dream come true when Puzzle Quest launched,” said Steve Fawkner, lead designer and chief executive officer of Infinite Interactive Pty.
