Blueside, the developer of the Kingdom Under Fire series, has revealed to 1UP through an interview that they are working on another game in the series that goes back to its roots.
“We are currently working on a ‘traditional’ real-time strategy sequel to The Crusaders, as well,” Blueside’s Henry Lee disclosed.
The upcoming game, Circle of Doom, takes a more action-oriented approach to the original’s real-time tactical battles. It is due out on January 8, 2008 on Xbox 360.

Microsoft has announced that Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom, the action-RPG installment in the strategy series, will be released exclusively for the Xbox 360 in Q2 2007.
In development at Blueside, and being helmed by series director Henry Lee, the game will feature randomly generated dungeons and landscapes, along with thousands of enemies on-screen. It will also feature a branching storyline, depending on player’s decisions. Circle of Doom will also feature Xbox Live modes, though full details are yet to be revealed.

The previously Xbox-exclusive Kingdom Under Fire franchise will be headed to the PC, courtesy of Korean game developer Blueside. Circle of Doom, which was previously announced only for the Xbox 360, will be given the PC treatment; Blueside has enlisted the help of Phantagram (Ninety Nine Nights) for the job. A teaser site for the PC version has also been put up.
Not much information is available on Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom, but it is known that the title will be a departure from the series, leaving the RTS action behind.
