It’s been five years since the original Call of Duty was released exclusively on PC. The game will make itself available to PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers later this year when it arrives on PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Arcade.
This comes from NeoGAF where an user discovered this PEGI rating.
As the game isn’t officially announced yet, it is not known when the port will hit or what enhancements it will include.

Valve’s work on Left 4 Dead has paid off, as the studio announced that the cooperative shooter has now sold over 2.5 million copies since its debut in November 2008.
This news came as part of project lead Michael Booth’s GDC presentation on the game. The figure includes both PC and Xbox 360 releases, but does not include sales from the company’s digital distribution platform Steam. The numbers would be higher of course, and it should be pointed out that a recent discount saw sales jump 3000%.

According to ESRB’s game ratings list, id Software’s classic first-person shooter Wolfenstein 3D is headed to PS3 and Xbox 360.
No further details were given, but many are speculating that the PSN and Xbox Live Arcade release will be timed to promote the upcoming Wolfenstein game in development at Raven Software; it is due out this summer on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Finally a solid release date for the highly anticipated Call of Duty sequel Modern Warfare 2: the game will be released on November 10, as announced by Infinity Ward at the GDC Choice Awards.
A very cryptic teaser trailer was released. Check it out below.

Developer Insomniac has revealed that the first bit of downloadable content for Resistance 2 will be released today alongside a new patch.
The “Aftermath Map Pack” will offer three new multiplayer maps for the shooter – Aftermath, Pit Stop and Orick. There will also be six new skins for multiplayer characters, including two female models, each going for $0.99. The map pack will sell for $5.99.
Meanwhile, a free v1.50 patch will add two new multiplayer modes – Meltdown Mode and Superhuman Co-op – as well as bug fixes and the ability for a second player to log into their PSN account on the same console.

A new patch for Team Fortress 2 officially adds multicore rendering support, allowing users with dual core and quad core CPUs to take better advantage of the money they spent on their computers.
It was a hidden console command at first, but even though it is now official and included in the GUI, Valve notes that it is testing the compatibility of the feature, so the option is turned off by default. You will have to manually enable the option in the game’s menu.
Other changes in the patch include crash fixes, improvements to the engine and more.

For those of you who purchased Paleo Entertainment’s CryENGINE 2-powered shooter Merchants of Brooklyn, read up: the item you bought was the alpha version. This is why you’ve been having audio, video and performance problems with the game.
"We are fully aware of the problems that occurred with the initial release of M.O.B.," wrote Paleo Entertainment on their official forums. "Unfortunately, the incorrect version went up on Steam. The Alpha version was released initially, this has been corrected."
Paleo adds: "Please log in/log out of Steam to receive the correct version of M.O.B. We will be patching this game periodically to correct any issues that arise, as well as new and exciting features and multiplayer modes!"

From The Seattle Times comes word of Blacklight, a futuristic military shooter being developed by Zombie Studios, while Fox Atomic creates an associated comic book and feature film. There is a couple of concept art from the game in the article, which describes the project to be similar to Apocalypse Now about 25 years from now.
"We’re hoping to graduate into the big league, frankly, with this one," said Zombie co-founder Mark Long, who says he expects the Seattle-based developer to grow by 30 to 40 employees as a result.
The film and video game will be written by Jason Dean Hall, a veteran writer whose last film Spread sold at Sundance to Summit. He is also currently writing films for Dreamwoks and Universal.
"From the start, I have envisioned ‘Blacklight’ as a story that spans all of the forms of media I enjoy most," stated Long. "It’s an ambitious project and I’ve been fortunate to find partners at Fox Atomic and Union who share that same vision. We are cooperating on the comic, game and movie at levels that are unprecedented in the industry."
No release dates were given.

While most of us have all the big blockbuster games, there are always newcomers to introduce them to, and Microsoft is aiming at them with the expansion of its Classics collection in Europe by including three games – Halo 3, Mass Effect and Project Gotham Racing 4. They will be re-released on March 20 for just £19.99.
No introduction is really necessary for any of the titles. Halo 3 is essentially the most popular first-person shooter ever, amassing a huge following since its Xbox days. Mass Effect is the latest action-RPG from BioWare; exclusive to Xbox 360, the game has players travelling across the universe to save the world from a destructive civilization. Finally, Project Gotham Racing 4 is the latest installment in the street racing series.
“We are delighted to add three of our finest titles to the Classics range, adding to the exceptional entertainment offering available on the Xbox 360 at outstanding prices,” said David Gosen Vice President of Marketing, Xbox Europe. “As we see more and more families looking to save money by staying in, Xbox 360 continues to offer high-quality home entertainment at fantastic value and consumers are clearly recognising this as we sail past 8 million console sales in Europe.”

Some actual information of BioShock 2 has surfaced, courtesy of the latest Game Informer issue which is now making its way to subscribers.
The sequel will see players assuming control of the “first ever” Big Daddy; players will be armed with a drill and will be able to upgrade their weapons and various plasmids. You will be able to liberate Little Sisters from other Big Daddies, with the option of either harvesting or adopting them.
While the above is confirmed to be real, some more information has also surfaced, which is yet to be verified. The game is said to be set 10 years after the first game and the Big Sister is a grown-up Little Sister, who is hunting you. There will be some levels that take place on the sea floor outside of Rapture and the game will feature a multiplayer mode.
Gameplay wise, upgrade trees will be more diverse and there will be new plasmids, including incinerate that allows you to throw a fireball or shoot a stream of fire. The Big Sister will periodically pop up and will be “the hardest thing in the game”.
The sequel is set to arrive sometime later this year on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Quelling rampant speculation, Monolith and Warner Bros jointly announced that the recently announced “Toy Soldiers” DLC for F.E.A.R. 2 will be released for free next month on PS3 and Xbox 360.
They also stated that the DLC will also be released for PC, though they would not give a date or further details. Hopefully it will be free on PC as well.

Activision sent out word that the first downloadable multiplayer map pack for Call of Duty: World at War will be released on PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 19. The PC release is said to be “coming soon”.
The pack will introduce four new maps to the shooter, one of which is for the Nazi Zombie survival mode. Below is the trailer showing it off.

Even though Monolith hasn’t made it clear which platforms the “Toy Soldier” DLC will hit, the studio has revealed that the three new multiplayer maps for F.E.A.R. 2 will be free.
Scheduled for release this April, the maps offer a big perspective on things as objects are made big to make the player feel small. It is known that the DLC will hit Xbox 360, but there’s been no word on a PC or PS3 release.

A couple of screenshots from F.E.A.R. 2’s upcoming “Toy Soldiers” DLC have been released, showing off the large-sized maps. Looks like fun!
The DLC is due out for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game soon.

Bizarre publicity stunts are nothing new in the games industry, but this is quite different: Warner Bros. is advertising F.E.A.R. 2 Project Origin on black cats prowling around London.
Branded a ‘cat-vertising campaign’, the specially trained cats sport FEAR 2 cat clothing, and roam the streets of London. Warner hopes that the creepy cats will capture the attention of superstitious passersby, and since it was Friday the 13th…
“Every day people are bombarded with so many advertising messages that it can be easy to miss them,” said a WB spokesperson. “With our research telling us that Brits are actively looking out for signs of bad luck this Friday, it makes perfect sense to try and capture their attention that way.”
