Lighthouse Interactive and dtp Entertainment send word that Belief & Betrayal, their upcoming adventure game involving faith and conspiracy, has a new release date in North America, UK and other European territories. Originally set for release later this year, the game is now scheduled to hit stores during Q1 2008.

Dtp announced at Leipzig two new RPG for release in 2009. The first game is an action-RPG in the works at Deck 13 (popular for Ankh and Jack Keane) and the second project is being handled by a well-known Belgian team. Both games are being released on PC and Xbox 360; further information is expected in the coming weeks.

The company also announced at the show that it plans on expanding its international reach. “We’re proud to say that we brought adventure games in Germany, Austria and Switzerland back to life. More than five years ago, we took up to re-establish adventure games - nowadays, the German game market rejoices in pretty strong competition, of which we come off as market leader for years. Now, it’s time to set ourselves new targets”, dtp’s COO Markus Windelen said. “We are taking up to bring back adventure games to their origin markets - especially North America. Adventure games have a big tradition there, nearly all releases by the market leaders of the past days, Lucas Arts and Sierra, still benefit from being cult. With clear designer legends and gaming concepts of today, we are giving back the adventure game genre its importance of then”, Windelen announces.

dtp Entertainment and Collision Studios jointly announced Red Ocean, a first-person shooter that takes place in an abandoned Soviet research facility, deep below sea level. The game has players stepping into the shoes of Jack Hard (is this a joke?!), who gets caught up in the doings of a terrorist group that has taken control of a Cold War-era Russian research facility.

On his way around the flooded corridors of the old station, the player is soon faced with roaming groups of armed guards. The hunt for the intruder is on: equipped with conventional weapons the terrorists attack from all angles, blinding the player with flashbangs and blasting their way through doors.

With the help of an extensive selection of weapons, the player advance further into the station, crossing rail tracks, jumping trains, traversing gigantic laboratories and bullet-proof underwater passageways. Soon the player is also faced with new enemies: armoured troopers open fire with powerful energy weapons. Only with the clever use of grenades and explosive barrels can he easily dispose of groups of enemies, thanks to spectacular explosions and the integrated physics engine.

Whole sections of the levels are flooded completely, when an underwater tunnel is shattered by the devastating force of the sea and the player finds himself in a deadly harpoon battle with enemy scuba divers…

The game is in development for release in March 2007. Below are the first screenshots:

German publisher dtp has announced Red Ocean, a new action game in the works at Collision Studios. Set in the first-person genre, this title will combine shooter gameplay with unique underwater elements, letting players make use of water to take out enemies.

Players take on the role of diving instructor and treasure hunter Jack Hard, who stumbles upon a secret Russian cold war research station underneath the ocean’s surface. He soon discovers that it is controlled by a terrorist organization, and that he’s now caught up in their schemes.

The game’s uniqueness comes from the fact that players will be able to make use of all three forms of water: in liquid form it will let players sneak up on enemies unnoticed; at sub-zero temperatures it becomes a slippery surface; and it’s all steamy when hot.

Red Ocean will be released under the ANACONDA label in February 2007.
