Data Design Interactive sent out word that they have signed a distribution deal with Koch Media, one that will see the latter distributing 14 of DDI’s Popcorn Arcade games in Q3-Q4 2007.

The Wii is getting some major love from Data Design Interactive, a British games developer/publisher, who has announced plans to setup a dedicated studio for the aforementioned Ninty console dubbed Popcorn Arcade. They have hired more team members to increase their work force for the new label which will be headed up by Robert Dorney, who has been with the company for nine years.

“With the incredible success of the Nintendo Wii’s casual gaming market, we want our Popcorn Arcade brand to be the must-have purchase for the casual gamer,” said Stewart Green, MD of DDI. “We have 14 titles that we want to ship this year, four of which already have gold master status and another 3 have been submitted to Nintendo for final approval. To keep up with this staggering momentum, we have set up a new development studio, where a brand new team can immediately start working on existing titles and start developing our planned 30 future titles over the next 12 months”.

Data Design Interactive announced that it will be present at next month’s GC Convention in Germany, showing off its Wii label entitled Popcorn Arcade. Here are the games that will be on display:

Billy the Wizard
It’s no fairytale when there’s an evil force around. Use your magical spells to attack evil dragons that have taken over the skies above ‘The Wizards Castle’. Or take part in the sorcerer’s ultimate challenge as you race alongside other wizards in the enchanting Broomstick Grand Prix.

Ninjabread Man
Candy Land is under attack! This once sweet and tasty land has been taken over by hordes of snapping Cup Cakes, Angry Bees and Jelly Monsters. Only one man can stop this evil army of monster cakes. He’s one tough cookie; a guy that won’t crumble under the pressure…… ‘Ninjabread Man’ is here!

Anubis II
The evil spirit has risen again and taken physical form. A ‘Pharaohs Curse’ has been placed over the fastest, strongest and most poisonous of Egypt’s inhabitants. The Gods have called on the only warrior that could rid the sands of these evil monsters and return peace to Egypt… The mighty Anubis.

Rock N Roll Adventures: Elviz
Bash and Trash crazed instruments with Elviz’s legendary guitar, or strum those strings for a bolt of Sonic Power to blast away Deadly Drums, Run, Push, Swipe and Jump your way through the massive levels with moving objects, intelligent enemies and hidden rooms! Its time to ROCK N ROLL!

The company will be set up in hall one J36.

Metro 3D has announced its partnership with Archos to include its MP3 player technology for use in Earache Extreme Metal Racing. This will allow players to choose tracks whilst playing the game.

The game, in development at Data Design Interactive, is set to release on PS2, PC and PSP on October 27. As the name suggests, the game includes metal bands as racing teams, including Deicide, Mortiis, Severe Torture and many others.

Metro 3D and Data Design Interactive send word that Earache Extreme Metal Racing will be hitting the streets on September 22. Their announcement also reported that the game will make its debut at the Leipzig Games Convention: hall 2, meeting booth E51.
