
Microsoft sent out word that Alien Hominid HD, the award-winning Xbox Live Arcade game from The Behemoth, will be the “Deal of the Week” this week. It will see a 400 point price drop during this time and, as an added bonus, players who receive at least one achievement will unlock the playable Alien character for Castle Crashers.

According to ESRB’s game ratings list, id Software’s classic first-person shooter Wolfenstein 3D is headed to PS3 and Xbox 360.
No further details were given, but many are speculating that the PSN and Xbox Live Arcade release will be timed to promote the upcoming Wolfenstein game in development at Raven Software; it is due out this summer on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Planned future releases include Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, Far Cry, Heroes of Might and Magic and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell.

Activision today announced that they will be opening up a presence for Guitar Hero in PlayStation Home, letting PS3 users interact, communicate and share experiences together in one unified space.
Dubbed “Backstage with Guitar Hero”, the space will be a themed backstage lounge and massive concert venue where users will be able to meet up, hang out and check out videos for upcoming titles in the franchise. It will add more functionality over time.

Harmonix seems to be a big fan of classics, as they have announced that Journey’s jukebox classic “Don’t Stop Believin’” is coming to Rock Band.
The song is coming most probably in next week’s batch of DLC, which hits March 31. It is expected to carry the traditional pricing of 160 Microsoft points ($2).

A post on the Hockey Downloads forums reveals that NHL 10 won’t be coming to PC and PS2, and that the division devoted to these platforms has been reassigned to PS3 and Xbox 360.
They cite economic pressures for them abandoning these platforms.

Blizzard today announced that it will be capitalizing on its own customers by releasing World of Warcraft-themed flavors of Mountain Dew Game Fuel.

Coca-Cola has teamed up with Microsoft this week to give away $37,000 (£25,000) worth of Microsoft points on Xbox Live for free.
The partnership will see three million points given away via a Happiness Factory promotion on the service on a first-come-first-serve basis.
These points can be used on anything, ranging from dowloadable content for Xbox 360 games to songs for your Zune.

Nerds rejoice! Stan Bush’s ballad “The Touch” from the 1986 animated film Transformers: The Movie will soon be available as a free download for Guitar Hero World Tour, according to a letter from the artist.
It wasn’t mentioned when the track would hit, though.

Namco Bandai today announced that Dynasty Warrriors: Gundam 2 will be available in stores starting April 21.
The second entry in the robotic take on the franchise will be available on PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Ray Parker Jr. revealed that he is currently working on getting the original Ghostbusters theme into Rock Band’s library of playable music.
“We were just talking about that, we’re working on it now,” he said. “I think they should have Ghostbusters in Rock Band.”
It would be awesome to play the Ghostbusters tune with a bunch of friends over.

Following last week’s tease that it would hit the digital distribution platform, Criterion’s open-world racer Burnout Paradise is now on Steam. The download is priced at $39.99, the same as the retail version.
The PC version was released early last month. It features enhanced graphics and all of the downloadable content that has so far been released for the consoles, including the offline multiplayer Party pack.

Once financially-ailing publisher Majesco has hit the rebound button as the company raked in profits of $4.2 million, driven by Cooking Mama titles and Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009. The power of casual games brings in money once more.
Company CEO Jesse Sutton said: "We are well positioned to capitalize on the increasing demand for family friendly mass market games, the fastest growing segment of the industry, which in part is being driven by the success of Nintendo’s platforms."

Even though Monolith hasn’t made it clear which platforms the “Toy Soldier” DLC will hit, the studio has revealed that the three new multiplayer maps for F.E.A.R. 2 will be free.
Scheduled for release this April, the maps offer a big perspective on things as objects are made big to make the player feel small. It is known that the DLC will hit Xbox 360, but there’s been no word on a PC or PS3 release.

The “South Central” downloadable add-on for Midnight Club: Los Angeles has suffered a slight delay. Originally due out on March 12, the DLC is now scheduled for release on March 19. No reason was given for the delay.
The update will come in two forms – a free update that expands the world, and a $10 premium update that includes more cars and races.
