Codemasters Online sends word that their popular subscription-free MMORPG ArchLord has opened a new hardcore PvP server to cope with increasing demand for the game.
The server will exclusively focus on PvP combat for both new and existing players alike. To celebrate the launch of “Cyripus”, the company is running a number of in-game events to challenge players. This includes various in-game leveling contests to being the actual ArchLord. Prizes will be given away, too.
Ed Relf, Director, Marketing, Codemasters Online commented, “This is a hugely significant development for ArchLord. The new server has been brought online to cope with the massively increasing demand for the game. We are still attracting tens of thousands of new players each week and with almost ¾ million players now registered, there’s never been a better time to play this great free-to-play MMO.”

Continuing the expansion of one of the longest running MMOs around, CCP today announced November 11 as the launch date for the final deployment in the two-part staged release of EVE Online: Quantum Rise, the ninth free expansion to the game.
This expansion offers performance-enhancing improvements, in-game subscription services, assembly array modules, UI changes, more efficient bomb production, upgrades to graphics, new music tracks and more.
It will be available completely free to subscribers. Interested non-subscribers can check out the free trial to see if they like it or not.

A truly limited edition, only 500 units have been made worldwide, individually numbered 1 to 500 with a Konami certificate of authenticity and approved by Hideo Kojima. It will retail for 99.99 GBP.

The promised downloadable content for the PS3 version of BioShock will be released on November 20 on the PlayStation Network, 2K Games announced today. The add-on content will be available for 6.29 GBP in the UK and $9.99 in the US.
It will consist of three challenge room environments, featuring new locations, objectives and artwork not seen in the original game. Here’s the deal:
A Shocking Turn of Events – A Little Sister is trapped atop a Ferris wheel in an undisclosed location in Rapture. Using only the tools and environment around them, players must use their wits to create electricity to power the Ferris wheel and bring the Little Sister to safety.
The I in Team – Using limited resources, and an even more limited arsenal, players must negotiate traps and find a way to defeat a Big Daddy using their wits instead of raw firepower.
Worlds of Hurt – Step up and take on the most grueling challenge offered in the world of Rapture. Players must battle through eight rooms of Big Daddies, Splicers and the worst that Rapture has to offer. Accumulate Adam, build an arsenal of Plasmids, Tonics and Weaponry, and fight through to rescue the Little Sister.
The DLC is exclusive to the PS3 version; PC and Xbox 360 versions won’t get any love. Below are three screenshots.

Recently released LittleBigPlanet includes an introduction and tutorial voiced by the famous Stephen Fry, who was powered by a script from writer Dean Wilkinson, giving it a mix of humor and personality along with the trademark Fry style.
Wilkinson also worked on the in-game text, renamed characters and extended their personalities and interaction, noted Sidelines, the agency for creative writers looking to break into games.
