Addressing concerns of Wii availability this Holiday season, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime went on record to say that the supply of consoles in North American stores will be “unprecedented”.

He did not give any numbers, however, though he mentioned that prospective buyers will not face any trouble in getting the console in stores. Fils-Aime also talked about Wii Fit, saying there’s more to the game than it looks.

“What we showed for Wii fit was just small taste. The game is incredibly deep,” he said. “I can guarantee you Mr. Miyamoto will surprise and delight us. It will be fantastic, and all of the other capabilities for the Wii Balance Board will make this a must have title when we bring it into the marketplace in 2008.”

Unsurprisingly, he took a jab at Sony, saying that he recently held one of the new slim PSPs and was hard pressed to find any differences. He also mentioned that no recent PS3 titles he played impressed him.

“When we saw the stunning concept visuals and exciting game design ideas they shared with us we immediately knew that what they have planned will be a true next-generation MMORPG, and become the kind of game which will set the visual and game play standards against which future MMO?s will be judged,” said Crytek director Faruk Yerli in the announcement.

Though no information is known about the project, it is the first title for the studio, which was formed last month. It was founded with industry vets from Korean MMO-publisher Webzen along with the creators of MMORPG MU Online.

Blitz Games has announced that it is using Kynapse, an AI middleware solution for an unannounced next-gen title currently in development. According to the announcement, the project is one of the largest ever undertaken by the company and is due for release on the PS3 and Xbox 360 at a later date.

“We have invested many millions of pounds since 1999 in developing our own BlitzWare engine and tool chain which have been used successfully to publish 42 titles to date - every one on time and to budget” said Andrew Oliver, Blitz’ CTO. “However, on this occasion we needed a very quick start. Since the game is very AI intensive and with several of our other development teams in the middle of their own next-gen games, we decided to turn to a third-party solution on this occasion, to guarantee success to our client. We therefore took a detailed look at the architecture and tool-chain used by a number of AI middleware solutions and found that Kynapse provided the best fit with our own methods of production.”

A Seamless World and Real-time Action Combat, exploration, and other actions all take place within the same environment, seamlessly shifting between each game facet.
