EA CEO: "We’re Boring People to Death!"

Taking a cue from honesty, EA CEO John Riccitiello said in an interview to The Wall Street Journal that ?we?re boring people to death and making games that are harder and harder to play.? He says EA and other publishers in the industry need to push for more ?casual? audiences and try out different and new sales approaches than the $50-60 game disks.

?For the most part, the industry has been rinse-and-repeat,? he said. Riccitiello also praised games that break the norm such as the Guitar Hero series, as well as the upcoming Rock Band game. However, he believes that there aren?t enough titles breaking new ground and the fact that sequels are still a ?sound strategy?.
