
Online games subscription service GameTap is now available for Macintosh gamers. It is available for all Intel-based Macs including Mac Books and Mac Minis thanks to TransGaming’s Cider technology.

New premium downloadable content for MLB 2K7 is now available via Xbox Live. On offering are new venues that are authentic recreations of legendary ballparks including Sportsman’s Park, Forbes Field, Shibe Park, the Poto Grounds and Crosley Field.
The abovementioned venues are available in pairs of two for 300 Microsoft points, or as a complete set of six ballparks for 800 points. There is also a free download for the game: Olympic Stadium, former home of the Montreal Expos, as well as Signature Style animations for a myriad of players.

Taking a cue from honesty, EA CEO John Riccitiello said in an interview to The Wall Street Journal that ?we?re boring people to death and making games that are harder and harder to play.? He says EA and other publishers in the industry need to push for more ?casual? audiences and try out different and new sales approaches than the $50-60 game disks.
?For the most part, the industry has been rinse-and-repeat,? he said. Riccitiello also praised games that break the norm such as the Guitar Hero series, as well as the upcoming Rock Band game. However, he believes that there aren?t enough titles breaking new ground and the fact that sequels are still a ?sound strategy?.

Bringing forth another weird name for a game, Spark Unlimited has announced that Gamecock will publish its upcoming FPS on PC and next-generation platforms in Spring 2008.
Dubbed Legendary: The Box, the game tells the story of Charles Deckard, an art thief who is duped into stealing Pandora’s Box, which, once opened, brings hordes of beasts into the world. The player is set with the task of sealing the box and thus saving civilization.

IDG World Expo has announced that Jonathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel, the number one cyber-sportsman, will be present at the E for All Expo scheduled for this October.
Fatal1ty will be participating in tournaments held at the event and will be a major part of it. “I couldn’t be more psyched to be associated with the first ever E for All,” he said. “I’m looking forward to seeing thousands of thrilled video game fans, from beginners to those ready to battle me ! It will be an amazing experience for the entire video game community.”
The expo is scheduled to take place on October 18-21 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the old stomping grounds of E3.

2K Games has announced Sid Meier’s Civilization IV: Gold Edition for release on July 17 across North America for PC. Combining the original game and its first expansion - Warlords - the Gold Edition will also offer a list of bonus items including a behind-the-scenes DVD.
Among the bonus items are a fantasy-style poster from artist Greg Hildebrandt, who is known as the illustrator of the original Star Wars themed “Clash of the Titans” movie poster, among other things. There will be a behind-the-scenes DVD with developer interviews, offering insight into the Civ4 development process. A tech-tree poster will also be provided, as well as the game manual itself.
