Wipeout Pulse Announced
Posted at 11:52 pm in PSP

EuroGamer reports of a new Wipeout game for the PSP straight from Studio Liverpool. Dubbed Wipeout Pulse, the game will offer 24 new, reversible tracks, various ad-hoc and infrastructure modes, eight new racing teams, seven game modes, as well as licensed music, with songs by Mason, Loco Dice and Stanton Warriors.

According to the report, a new track element called the “Mag Strip” will be introduced in Pulse. This will lock ships to the surface of the tracks temporarily, allowing designers to add things like loops, vertical drops and other such sections to “mess with your head.” Gamers will also be able to personalize their vehicles; it will also feature the option to listen to your own MP3 tracks in the game, as well as a Photo mode that will allow users to take shots of their ships and post online.

The article also details plans that downloadable content for Pulse has been lined up for launch day; more is to be expected soon thereafter.

Wipeout Pulse will be released this September for the PSP. And as Shacknews puts it aptly, the game’s name is not WipEout.
