Hoping to reinvigorate its ailing games brand, Nokia has announced new games and publishers for the N-Gage platform. The Finnish phone-maker also announced updated software development tools as well as a new testing program for SNAP Mobile’s Java platform.

Nokia introduced a range of games for the N-Gage including Asphalt 3, Street Rules, Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway, Brain Challenge, Midnight Pool and FIFA 2008. It also announced that Glu Mobile, Indiagames and THQ Wireless have all come aboard on the N-Gage platform.

The company also launched its next-generation SDK for the new N-Gage games platform, enabling developers to create social-connected games across a range of Nokia’s S60 3rd edition devices. It also furthered its Java development activities by ensuring all SNAP Mobile connected games go through the SNAP Mobile Compliance Testing Program. This program limits costs by combining a self-testing process with a traditional certification program.

Nokia is expected to further detail its plans for mobile gaming and the N-Gage platform.
