The oft-delayed MMORPG Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures has once again been delayed. The ‘final’ release date for the game is October 30 now. Apparently, the extra time will enable the developers to “deliver a truly awesome MMO gaming experience… and a vibrant world to live in.” For their sake, I hope it does.

It was also mentioned that the game is currently in closed beta, and that Funcom will soon announce a unique chance to secure a spot in the open beta of the game. Those who get in will have a chance to influence what goes into the final game.

UT2K7 Becomes Unreal Tournament 3; Now Doing 360 Too

Dropping the Madden-style annual release format, Epic Games and Midway have announced that Unreal Tournament 2007 has been renamed to a simpler Unreal Tournament 3. The initial plan was to do annual updates to the game, a lot like what happened with UT2003 and UT2004, but given the fact that they are late in delivering the game and that such games require long development cycles, the name was changed to reflect its entry in the multiplayer-shooter series.

Unreal Tournament 3, unlike before, now has a release date: second half of 2007. It was also revealed that the PS3-PC game is now heading towards the Xbox 360, confirming past rumors. The game will also feature a beefed up single-player component featuring online co-op play for all platforms.
