The ninth entry in the Need for Speed series, Carbon, was announced by EA a few weeks ago for god-knows-how-many-platforms. Along with the announcement, the company sent out a couple of nice screenshots showing off the game. The following are “enhancements” of the original screenshot, and adapted for standard and wide-screen desktop resolutions.

Two hot new production stills from the upcoming Resident Evil movie can be found over on IGN Filmforce. The stills show off returning star Milla Jovovich (Alice) and series newcomer Ali Larter, who will be portraying Claire Redfield from the game. Here’s a bit on the move:
Resident Evil: Extinction is again based on the wildly popular videogame series and picks up where the last film left off. Alice (Milla Jovovich), now in hiding in the Nevada desert, once again joins forces with Carlos Oliveira (Oded Fehr) and L.J. (Mike Epps), along with new survivors Claire (Ali Larter), K-Mart (Spencer Locke) and Nurse Betty (Ashanti) to try to eliminate the deadly virus that threatens to make every human being undead… and to seek justice. Since being captured by the Umbrella Corporation, Alice has been subjected to biogenic experimentation and becomes genetically altered, with super-human strengths, senses and dexterity. These skills, and more, will be needed if anyone is to remain alive.
Dubbed Resident Evil: Extinction, the movie is scheduled for release next year and is being directed by Russell Mulcahy who’s working off a script by Paul W.S. Anderson, the director of the first (and best) movie in the popular franchise.

The very latest in Bungie literature has gone up, updating us on the status of the game sought after by overzealous fans – Halo 3.
Apparently, the studio is testing single-player Campaign missions, offering word that they’re testing out new AI and that graphics ranges from “completely untextured placeholder surfaces” to “brilliantly lit and detailed objects”. The prodigious AI is much talked about:
Today, I swear I saw some Grunts do a classic pincer-movement to trap me in a narrow canyon. I was battling um, something bigger than a Grunt, and suddenly, I’m being peppered by a second group of jerks, mostly Grunts, who’d been sent in around my flanks to take me out. Grunts are still grunts though, and once I showed some serious opposition, a couple of them panicked and fled, but they nearly had me and it was quite a shock.
As usual the update contains more action-packed bits, including letters from angry fans who can’t spell properly.

Autumn Moon Entertainment has posted an update on its website, stating that they have signed a new publishing agreement for A Vampyre Story, an adventure game that has been on hold for around a year now.
The publisher was unnamed, though the post carries word that the lucky publisher itself will be sending an official announcement in the coming weeks. The team is currently finishing up pre-production and will be moving onto full production soon.
