
Through another announcement, Sega unveiled World Snooker Championship 2007 for the PS3 and Xbox 360, as well as the PS2, with “Challenge” available for the PSP. All titles are set for release this Autumn.
World Snooker Championship 2007 boasts 104 of the World’s best snooker players, with ten official tournaments all realistically modelled for the 2007 season. Can you take Shaun Murphy to another stunning World Championship win? Or will you be able to bring Ronnie O’ Sullivan back to form at the table to regain his titles?A host of new features compliment the title this year. In addition to the snooker offering, Blade Interactive have added the greats from the world of Pool. World Snooker Championship 2007 boasts a comprehensive pool experience where you can play 9 and 8-ball competitions. Play as or against an array of the World’s best pool players, and take on 10 major Pool tournaments, including the Mosconi Cup and the World Pool Championships. You can also show off your true skills in a Trickshot Championship - step up and pull off your favourite crowd pleasers from a vast selection of trickshots.
The new Golden Cue mode will allow you to mix the different cuesports within each match, so now you can test your versatility by taking on Ronnie O’Sullivan in frames of Snooker, Pool and more, all within the same match!
World Snooker Championship 2007 further improves the authenticity of the franchise with a new positional play feature. You can now position the cueball with greater accuracy than ever before, helping you to make advanced safety shots for better defensive play. The create-a-player mode has also seen dramatic improvements, allowing you to customise the star of the future.

Sega, in its latest pre-E3 announcement, disclosed the development of World Pool Championship 2007 and World Pool Challenge 2007. In the works at Blade Interactive, World Pool Championship 2007 will be available on the PS2 and Challenge on PSP.
In World Pool Championship 2007 and World Pool Challenge 2007, gamers can create their own pool player or play as one of the world’s top pros in over 10 officially licensed pool tournaments including the Mosconi Cup, World Cup, and U.S. Open. Players will test their versatility in Golden Cue Mode by challenging other pro players to games of eight-ball, nine-ball, and other cuesports within the same tournament. Pool sharks will be able to showcase their favorite crowd-pleasing skills in the World Trickshot Championship from a vast selection of trickshots.

Originally a PC developer, Valve has announced that it plans to develop for Xbox 360. Coming titles from the developer will be powered by a customized version of Source and will be integrated with the Xbox Live broadband network.
No details on any titles were announced, but more can be expected from E3.

Black Bean Games has announced Crown of Glory for release in Europe. Set during the time of the Napoleonic Wars, the game lets players take control of an European nation and attempt to guide that nation to glory through diplomacy, economics, strategy and combat.
The game will be released sometime later this month.

Atari officially joined the “urban craze” with their Marc Ecko game. Now, they are continuing their craziness with HOT PXL, an “ingenious and hip” new title for the PSP that comprises of 200 “deviously crafted” micro-games based on street culture and the digital lifestyle.
In HOT PXL the player is charged with guiding the central character, a half-skater, half-nerd named Djon, through a typical day in his pixellated digital world. The world of HOT PXL features fast paced and varied micro-games ranging from the eccentrically outrageous, through to the subtle and cool, dipping into Atari’s rich video game history for inspiration along the way.The rapid fire gameplay requires players to draw on their reflexes and 2D gaming prowess to get through hundreds of inspired scenarios - whether it’s blasting through an old-school style video game, busting tricks on a skateboard or a BMX, stage-diving at a pixellated concert, or just trying to cross a busy digital street.
HOT PXL (note: all caps) will let users download new content through the Internet, adding new features as well as micro-games. The game is scheduled for release this Christmas.

On Games is the latest to announce its E3 2006 lineup. The company will be showcasing the following titles in its booth (#2128, West Hall):
PC Football 2007 (Gaelco Multimedia, PC), the only PC manager with playable 3D matches that offers you management and simulation in one single interface. Get total control of your teams, negotiate TV rights, sign new players or prepare the weekly training schedules while you play the matches!

The Legend of Dragon (Freak Frog, PC) is based on BKN’s internationally acclaimed animated series. In this beat’em-up, the twins Ang & Ling must fight the twelve Chinese Zodiac signs to obtain their powers, using martial arts movements from the brilliant sequences of the series. Each character is endowed with a wide range of movements and blows which wisely combined can create devastating combos. Struggle with might and main to defeat the terrifying Golden Dragon!


Having already renamed Diabolique to Infernal, Playlogic Games has announced “Ryan Lennox” as the new protagonist in the game (pictured above).
The redesigned main character, according to the announcement, suits the storyline and the “demonic and evil” atmosphere. He is supposedly more distinct and presents a hero with devilish powers and “hot-headed manners, while never forgetting his coolness.”
Infernal is a third-person action-adventure title set in the current day. As usual, it follows the eternal story of good against evil, but the game has players take on the role of one of hell’s agents. The game uses Ageia PhysX for enhanced physics, as well as pixel shader 3.0 support, among other things.
The game is scheduled for release this Q4 on PC and will be shown to the public at E3 in less than a week’s time. It will be displayed at Playlogic’s booth (#2328, West Hall).

Sega’s second pre-E3 announcement discloses the development of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz for Nintendo’s… Wii.
Being designed as a party game, Banana Blitz will let players control “AiAi and his friends” using the console’s unique controller. Players can flick the controller up, having the characters on-screen jump at once - it’s pure genius… as the announcement puts it. An abundance of new party games have been created specifically for the Nintendo console, including “Whack-a-Mole” and traditional games of “ring toss.”
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz is currently being developed by Sega Studios. The game will be on display at Sega’s booth at E3. No release date has been announced.

In Sega’s first announcement before E3, the company announced Virtua Tennis 3 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Returning to the series with enhanced photo-realistic graphics and advanced player animations, the next-gen game will, as its predecessors did, let players go around the world to participate in “heated” tournaments… and win!
The new entry will see newly added players and improvements to the game’s AI. There’ll be a Career Mode, letting gamers travel throughout the world and take on the tennis world’s biggest stars. Players will be able to create their own players through the Player Creation mode - the most detailed yet. Virtua Tennis 3 will also feature mini-games; in addition to games from previous titles, new ones will be introduced to “sharpen” players’ skills.
Virtua Tennis 3 will be on display at Sega’s E3 booth (#946, South Hall). It is due for release on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in Spring 2007.

Expanding the Blitzkrieg series is CDV, who announced the first expansion to the historical RTS. Titled “Fall of the Reich”, the stand-alone expansion will be released this September.
Blitzkrieg 2: Fall of the Reich spans three major offensives from the final days of fighting on the Eastern front and covers both the Soviet and German campaigns in the long “Siege of Budapest,” “Fortress Kurland,” and the Soviet “Operation Bagration.” Sixteen historically based missions across 10 new maps will challenge beginning and veteran strategists as they try to either capture or defend the remnants of the German war machine during the final days of World War II in Europe.
