Nokia, after two failed attempts at breaking into the portable market, has killed off its N-Gage hardware and will instead be focusing on a “virtual console” network to provide games for its phones.
GamesFirst reports that the new N-Gage is now a gaming network available exclusively to Nokia phones, letting users download games available through it. Nokia is also actively courting third-party developers, as well as encouraging independent developers with a program called 4 Room Nokia, letting indie devs get their games on the N-Gage network.
The article goes on to talk about games on the service which have a high-level of graphical detail, comparing those titles to that of PS1 games. Only time will tell if the N-Gage network is a success, but for now it seems like a smart move from Nokia.

Following Ubisoft, German publisher CDV has publicized that it has ditched the notorious Starforce copyright protection system and will be migrating to TAGES copy protection for future titles.

IMDB’s page for the Halo movie currently lists the upcoming film for release sometime during 2008, delayed from its original summer 2007 schedule. The film, which is being executive produced by Peter Jackson, and whose script was written by Alex Garland (28 Days Later), is yet to gain a director and the rest of the production team.
Bungie has stated that Halo 3 and the Halo movie will not affect each other in terms of release dates. So, don’t sweat it - just wait for a good movie to hit theaters… and the game to hit stores sometime next year.

Coming as another exciting new feature to the Wii is the inclusion of face-capture technology. E3 attendees got the chance to see Shigeru Miyamoto, Satoru Iwata and Reggie Fils-Aime play Wii Tennis on-screen which featured their faces in a cartoon-style on their character’s faces. This feature was not a one-time gimmick, but will be available to all Wii players (and across other Wii games), confirmed Miyamoto in an interview to MTV News.
As expected, he did not reveal details on how it will be done, or which games will feature support for the technology. Further information is expected soon.

In an investigative report, IGN claims that the PS3 will receive downloadable titles through its online network similar to how Xbox 360 users get access to casual games.
Apparently, That Game Company is looking for a superstar engineer with a strong graphics background to develop an unannounced downloadable title for the PS3 launch in Novemberthat has led IGN to contact the company to clarify the details. It seems that the game will be for a service which will offer downloadable casual games similar to Xbox Live Arcade, and that itll be available on day one. The companys president then went on to say that it will be a port of the companys currently free-to-play web game “flOw“.
Sony would not comment on the matter, but it was only a matter of time before the media giant added a casual games service to its forthcoming console.

First off, I’d like to thank you for making the time to read this site and specifically this post.
Anyways, BDGamer wasn’t updated in the last few days as you can see. Well, my finals will run from June 8 through 28 and, as you can probably guess, I’ll have to give my full time to studies for these days.
Still, BDGamer will be updated whenever I get the time, but I really wanted you to know that updates will be irregular until June 28.
