CVG has an article up, revealing that CryTek does not intend on releasing Crysis, or its fabulous engine, to next-gen consoles in the near future.
“It crossed our minds,” said Yerli on the next-gen question, “but we’re sticking with PC. One thing about our company is that we want to focus, we don’t want to do multiple things, we want to do one thing and do it well. PC is our focus right now, we were born there and we want to showcase what we can do there, before we made any move onto consoles.”
This contradicts the previous stance of the company. Next-gen consoles will be the platforms to fully utilize the power of such engines, and it would be a shame to waste it only on the PC when gamers will be looking for next-gen graphics on their consoles.
